Antioxidants are good for you and when you eat healthy you will have a better chance of living longer. When you decide on what to eat you’re deciding on what to eat, based on what you’re feeling like. If you just got home from a sport you should probably eat a healthy meal because you burned off nutrients and you should get those nutrients back in you. I have learned that if you eat healthy you will do better in sports and perform better in school also you will live longer. It affects your health because you are being active and building your muscles and your body parts are getting stronger.

Blue Zones

Blue zones are places where people live longer than an average person. All blue zones have something common like they all live a long life and eat healthy. Costa Rica, Sardinia, Okinawa and Loma Linda California those are blue zones. People in Costa Rica eat a lot of fruits and vegetbles also man made tortillas that are high in calcium. People in Sardinia drink wine that is super high in antioxidants people In Okinawa eat tofu and vegetbles tofu will help prevent cancers.

Retirement

Retirement never exist because they want to keep their bones strong and want to stay active and they want to earn money also it will give them an advantage of living a longer life. An active life will keep your bones and heart strong and you will have a longer life. When I first heard of a blue zone I thought the land was blue but then I learned that it is a place where people eat healthy. Drink healthy and stay strong.

Free Radicals

What are free radicals? A free radical is a molecule that used to be a healthy cell but then it got broke apart becoming a free radical and then that free radical will go find a healthy cell to break apart and take that molecule and then those two will become a healthy cell but that is why we have antioxidants. Antioxidants will provide cells so the free radical will become happy again.

Antioxidants

Antioxidants are very healthy for you because if there is a free radical in us the antioxidants will help provide anther cell so then that free radical will be a healthy cell again. What foods have antioxidants in them? Wheat grass has over 1,000 antioxidants in it. How many do you need in a day? There is no recommended amount of antioxidants in a day but the more healthy foods you eat the more antioxidants will come.

My Pyramid

My pyramid is a pyramid that has a bunch of food groups in it like the fruit group, dairy group, wheat group, vegetable group, and the meat and bean group and it helps you pick what you should eat and shouldn’t eat. Do most people eat the recommended on the food pyramid? No because you don’t always feel like it also sometimes if you eat too much of the same thing you can get sick.

What food should you eat most of? There isn’t a group that you should eat most of you should eat 6oz of grains, 2 ½ cups of vet gables, 1 ½ of fruits, for kids 2-8 should eat 2 cups and for 9 year olds and up 3 cups of milk, 5oz of meat and beans.

Influences on food choices

Personal preferences affect your food choices because it is based on what you like and don’t like. Family and culture is a big part on what your food choice is because the people in your family will eat foods on special holidays.

Meal planning

Meal planning is the food groups from MyPyramid. It also gives you examples of the amount of food you should eat from that food group. Is meal planning a good idea? Yes, because if you didn’t meal plan you wouldn’t know the right amount of food you should eat from that food group.

Physical Activity

How does physical activity affect your health? When you are staying active you will start to build muscles. If you are just sitting on the couch all day and eating chips and unhealthy foods you will start getting fat. That’s why you should always play 60 minutes you can play anything baseball, basketball, tag, soccer, and anything else just go outside and have fun. What activities help you burn calories? Like I said, “Anything as long as it’s safe and as long as it’s active”.

Body Image

What is a body image? A body image is the way you feel about your body. When you watch too much television it will affect your body image because you will not have strong bones or muscles and you will feel like you need to watch more tv.
